My question; Are things really that bad in their Country that parents are willing to throw their 3 year old child over the border wall??
If things were really bad in my Country, my children would stay with me regardless. I could not possibly throw my 3 year old daughter over a wall into another Country not knowing what would happen to her
There is probably an untold part. Border patrol scared off the coyote on the american side, maybe he was supposed to be catching the kids. The smugglers have no conscience as we also witnessed the e 6 monyh old being dumped in the river. The texas ranger probably had a choice of apprehending a smuggler or saving the baby and the smuggler knew which choice would be made.
We cannot save the world by moving everyone here.
The news mixes up on purpose the personal stories with the larger picture. My mex neighbors are good people but in general my city is becoming a barrio

what is the wt doing these days if someone das but threatens to sue if the elders make an announcement that leads to shunning?.

i know the elders are supposed to notify the legal department, but what is the legal department telling them to do?.

I suspect they drop it. I mentioned stopping by a brothers home one day in service, no deal. I knew he was not making meetings, had health issues, and ran afoul of one if the moocher elders. I still talk to him if I see him at wallywirld. I think he had legal help disassociating or asked for a lawyer by the way they acted.

a preteen asked me , “did jesus have a dog”?

i thought the question was hysterical.

why wouldn’t jesus have a dog or pet cat or sheep?

There was an experience where the couple simplified and she commented how much the discarded dog used to relieve stress.
I remember an elder who was upset we let the dog in the house. From comments by the circuit overseer about " no scripture " in a talk I am sure there was a complaint made. Dog # 6 is still inside.

The serious answer is Jews considered dogs as scavengers, not pets. However there were the scrap eating dogs.
The human answer is e everyone loves puppies and kitties and they all go to heaven.
Leave it to a kid to contrast what we see with what we wish

I dont know any ultras for sure. People do miss meetings for the association. Not the material. I know lots of cameras are off so not e everyone is " dressing appropriately "
As for independent study groups, the letter was about elders scheduling extra meetings beyond the authorized ones, not small groups getting together.

Would the world be a better place without religion?

i know what you’re gonna say---------everyone has a right to believe whatever they want.. but the question above is not about everyone’s right to believe whatever.. the question is very specific------will the world be a better place----without religion.

think for a while what the world would be like without any religion.. no conflicts between islam and christianity.. no conflicts between different sects of christianity.

(example; jehovah’s witnesses vs catholics).

Human nature will find a way to have conflicts. Controlling personalities, greed, nationalities, race, tribes, intellectualism e. We all believe something whether we call it religious or something else.
